Hard Times V. Ass Kickin Chili
By: Larry Petro - Marietta, AL Apr 7, 2012
If I could have given the Ass Kickin Chili Mix a ZERO I would have. You get a LARGE bag of dried beans, and three TINY packs of less than a quarter ounce each of mesa flour, pepper, and chili seasoning. All for $8.95 plus shipping. When you go by the directions it does not even start to taste like chili. After hours working with it I was able to get it a little better, but it was not worth eating and i wound up throwing the whole pot away after one bowl. On the other hand the Hard Times Chile mixes both come with two packs of chili spices that weigh two and a quarter ounces each, enough to actually start your chili mix off tasting something like chili. Again, following the directions won't get you to "chili", have to work on it for a few hours, but at least you are starting with a good base, and can actually produce a really good finished product if you are willing to spend the time and effort. The Hard Times sells for $6.25 and has the two packs of chili spices...a much better buy and better finished product.
