I first tasted this back in 1991, and discovered the hot sauce I had been craving all my life--heat plus flavor. That led to other things, including a well-stocked shelf filled with Melindas and other hot sauces.

Great Basic Sauce

This is an excellent all-purpose, entry-level hot pepper sauce. It has a little heat but not too much. It is remarkably well balanced and has a nice flavor. Regular people should find it hot but enjoyable. Chile heads might want more heat but could still get by with enough. This would be a solid choice for dinner parties, barbecues, etc.

In short: Melinda's was owned by a Belize farmer named Marie Sharp. She created the recipe so she could sell the habanero's her farm produced. Sadly, she wasn't wise to international trademark law, and her American distributor screwed her out of the product name and labelling. please go research the history of Melinda. Bunch of thieves!
